About You:

To be successful as a lead Arborist the ideal candidate will

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to appropriately assess and record risks in relation to trees, tree surgery operations and associated equipment
  • Well organised with an attention to detail to ensure effective work planning, prioritisation, multi-tasking and the meeting of deadlines of own work and that of others.

Your Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

You will also need to have the following knowledge, experience and qualifications

  • Educated to level 2 National Qualification Framework for England, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • NPTC Pesticide PA1 and PA6 or willing to undertake training
  • Application of Eco plugs and Specialist stump poison or willing to undertake
  • Stem injection of pesticide or willing to undertake
  • NPTC cross cutting, maintenance chain saw. Felling, processing small or medium trees
  • NPTC / LANTRA woodchipper
  • NPTC City & Guilds Tree Climbing and Rescue
  • NPTC City & Guilds Chainsaw from Rope and Harness or willing to undertake training
  • NPTC / LANTRA brush cutter or willing to undertake training
  • Up to date first aid certificates or willing to undertake training
  • CSCS Card
  • Street Works (Chapter 8) Qualification or willing to undertake training
  • Sharps awareness Training or willing to work towards.
  • Asbestos awareness Training or willing to work towards
  • Tractor Driving Certificate
  • NPTC stump grinder or willing to undertake training
  • Accredited HHSRS Certificate
  • Full U.K. Driving License or willing to work towards in a reasonable timeframe.

What you’ll be doing:

We are seeking a Lead Arborist to join our Green Earth Team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Leader and Green Earth Project Manager, ensuring that all Health & Safety requirements are fully met on site. You will liaise directly with tenants, providing clear and effective communication to understand and meet their needs while coordinating tree works within residential properties and nearby communal areas. Through a wide range of arboricultural maintenance and intervention activities, you will play a key role in the conservation, management, and enhancement of Tai Calon’s tree stock. You will deliver a high-quality, safe, efficient, and cost-effective service, promoting a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service.

Permanent

Working Pattern:

You will work 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

You will primarily be working in Tai Calon properties across Blaenau Gwent. For the days that you're in the office, we've got a bright, open and modern ace for you to catch up with colleagues and work from
